This 'n That

I know I haven't been here much! Trying to get DH healthy after throat cancer scare. Looking into the Watercure also to help asthma. Finding out how dehydrated I usually am. Scary, especially with a kidney condition that makes me prone to stones!

Asthma Treatment

Since I switched to the P-5-P version of B6 I have been remarkably free of asthma attacks, and I only need to nebulize briefly, like only for a couple of minutes morning and evening. I had my best Autumn in years since being on B6; I also take the P5P B complex. I look forward now to Autumn, my favorite season, and to Winter, my next favorite season, but one full of pitfalls for one with Asthma, as the frigid air can trigger attacks. No longer. The B6 has given me back much of my life. No more fear. I am even tolerating cigarette smoke much better, and I have noticed that chlorine is not as reactive any more. This is GREAT!

Summer of Throat Cancer Hell

Well, I haven't been here in a LONG time! DH has been sick since January, plus he was on the road (he is a long distance trucker), and it turned out to be throat cancer. I hate our current medical system that won't acknowledge natural cures; if we had the money I would have taken him to Ecuador for the Young Living cure. As it was he had to have surgery and lost so much tissue that he may never be able to eat or drink normally again; he might have to be on a feeding tube for the rest of his life. Makes me sick that "modern" medicine can disfigure someone and make living and eating difficult, but they can't acknowledge natural medicines, which help without hurting. Whatever happened to "first do no harm?"

Wonderful Doctor Found!!!

I have found the doctor I have been searching for. I have fired several doctors, including the one we originally found here in the Chicago area, and whom we had for many years. He has become just another medical establishment physician and I mourn his loss because he was an excellent doctor at one time. I have now found a physician who works with me and listens, prescribes Armour thyroid, understand adrenal fatigue, and is an integrative physician. Here is his website:
http://www.parejamedical.com/

He is located about 10 minutes from Midway Airport in Chicago, and I heartily recommend him. He is a compassionate, caring physician who listens to his patients and works with them to achieve their goals of recovering their health. I have been under his care since my bout with pneumonia and cannot say enough about him and his excellent practice. His staff is as compassionate and caring as he is. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Long Absence

It has been quite a long time since I posted here. After my last post in December I descended into respiratory hell. After the two asthma attacks last October and mid December, my immune system must have been weakened, because I succumbed to bronchitis first, then pneumonia. I wasn't even reading email for months, and this blog was the least of my concerns. I was fighting just to breathe first, then to breathe without constant wheezing. Thankfully, I have found several things that have helped. I have discarded the Advair with its adverse side effects, one of which is death. Just check this link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24777955/ and you will get an eye opener! Essential oils have helped, plus I am now taking a daily B-Complex plus extra B6 and it has been a fantastic addition to my regimen. I don't know if anyone reads this or not, but it has crystallized things for me just by writing things out.

Links in my blog

If you look to the right, scroll down below the pics and you will find my many links to sites that are very informative and helpful. Be your own advocate; many of us have had to educate ourselves to become our own doctors because we couldn't find doctors who weren't robots for Big Pharma, who does NOT have the patients best interests at heart - they have their profits, first and foremost, at heart. Trust your own instincts on your health - it may well mean the difference between wellness and disease and can even be the difference between life and death.

Hypothryoidism and Fibromyalgia

I would like to mention in this post one very important piece of information! FMS and hypothyroidism can be intimately related! Many of us with sub clinical hypothyroidism also have symptoms of FMS, and it has been found that hypothyroidism can be one of the causes of FMS. So many have found that once their hypothyroidism was properly diagnosed and properly treated, that their FMS either went away completely, or subsided into the background. This can be crucial for so many patients, and I am one of them. Doctors need to get a clue and pay attention to sub clinical hypothyroidism as it can affect how the whole body operates. The endocrine system is not a bunch of independent organs, but a fine tuned body system that regulates metabolism among other things. If it is out of whack, then the longer it goes undetected, the more problems and the more symptoms a patient will have; physical, emotional, psychological; the list goes on and on. If you have a doctor that is clueless, and there are a LOT of doctors out there that ARE clueless, then you need to FIRE that doctor and find one who DOES have a clue - they exist, but can be difficult to find - it takes persistence but can be done. For the sake of patients, this must be a priority for those who are patient advocates for FMS and thyroid researchers and doctors who actually care about the well being and functionality of their patients. So many are either lost in the shuffle or fall between the cracks because doctors aren't willing to go the extra mile and really dig into the root cause of suffering.
